Default Your diesel trucks at the gas pump

is this your first diesel?

My first cars were diesels, I remeber not even being able to break 30 bucks with a 25 gal tank (I'm 25 now)

Would you have bought a diesel if you knew what prices would be now back when you bought it? I know the people with 5th wheels sure as hell need the diesel. And ive always heard the diesels got great mpg to offset the increase retail price and gas price but from what ive seen on here most people are lucky to see 20mpg.

I will never go back to a gasser, but I had problems with my hemi so I am kind of turned off to gas in a 3/4 ton truck.

Hi my name is HiredGun and I would like to say Im a Black-Smoke-Ahualic.....and this is my first Diesel.........LOL.........I would buy another one if I had it to do over again. I would still lift it and mod it too, But it might be a diff story if I had to drive more than 10 miles to work. I love my truck but the best fuel milage its ever got was when I first got it and that was 18.5 with (285/75/16) tires and stock everything. Now it gets 15 with the leveling kit and 35s. Maybe when I put a new vp44 and get the smarty working right and can leave my foot out of it for a whole tank it will get 17 or 18 again.........but I am only 26 so Im sure it will be another 3or4 years before that will happen!!!!

I knew what the fuel prices were when I bought this one and know what they will probley will be , that said I needed a 2500 I knew the CTD would get better MPG but if it got the same mileage you still have more HP/T, you doint get anything for free. I would do it again in a HART BEAT

I'm getting the same gas mileage my DAK did, but I can now carry a crew if need be, I can pull small trees and haul heavy loads when needed.

So yes I would have still bought it

I probably would have bought a used 2006, better mileage, and cheaper.

The price is all relative to what you are looking for. I am visiting family this weekend and got to drive the father-in-law's hemi. 20 gallons=300 miles (15mpg! hwy) My dieselgets about 18 highway. So it's about $6 less to go 300 miles in mine than his gasser. So overall I'm happy with it.

BTW- Love the avitar (well, at least parts of her!)
