I could not get a straight answer form anyone on a trans rebuild, and its $3000+ to order a sun coast unit...

I just listed my cummins on Craigslist..


dont say a thing about the price if you find the listing.
I have my reasons.

guess I will build a VW air cooled angine for the Baja. buy a flat bed trailer like when I started my business 2 years ago. (pre-ctd)

If I could find a trans for $2000, I might reconsider.

the local trans guy 3 miles away hemmed and hawed when i asked for a price. even when I said "ok, EVERYTHING has to be replaced except the trans case. how much?"

all I got was "well, umm, you may not have to replace..."

I told him, thats not what I am asking..I hate people who do that crap

they want $300 to remove trans and troubleshoot it...[:@] then give me an ESTIMATE!!!

 

Does dodge offer any kind of rebuild exchange sorta like allison?

 

3,000 sounds high, Ive posted a tranny place several times, once for mytowrig, can't find the link, but they had trannies for 2k, evened offered 1,000 bucks off for a working tranny so I'm sure theyll still offer something on broke trannies

put up an ad of craigslist to find a shop that will rebuild it. You never know who might be browsing for work.
