My 1998.5 Cummins with 243,000 miles is still locking up. Iv'e read and read on this problem. Went as far replace both battery cables. They are clean. Could this be a TPS problem? ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREAT... I have noticed that is usually does it more now when I'm on a slight incline.It does have the Superchips programmer set on High Performance, but that shouldn't affect it. It does it with or without.

when you say locking up do you mean chokeing out or dieing on you???

 

Locking Up. The tranny keeps going in and out of lock up.

I gotcha. . .another thing you can do is check the wireing harness to the tranny and make sure it has not rubbed through on one of the hangers.
