New De / Re-badge....
So, I was a bit bored yesterday and decided to use one of the old badges I had from when I de-badged the truck.
This was the last badge I wanted to remove, but couldn't figure out what to do with it. Sooo....

If you decide to do this, here are a few tips....
DISCLAIMER: DO NOT remove the old badge until you do Step 5 below. Make sure you are happy with the results, becauseto remove the silver Ram head, you pretty much have to destroy the 3 little, plastic pieces that hold it to the backing.
1 - Use 20 lb fishing line (or higher) to "saw" though the 2 sided tape.
2 - There are 2 plastic locator pins on the back side of the emblem. You have to use the fishing line to work around them, you won't be able to go straight through like on the other badges. DO NOT cut the pins off.
3 - DO NOT USE A HEAT GUN TO REMOVE THE EXCESS TAPE HERE!!! Uhhh, don't ask....let's just say that the grill gets a bit, uhh, soft.
4 - Tape off and paper the area around the depression for the emblem and spray paint the depression with gloss black paint. This helps blend in the black background, as it did have a chrome outside edge when the Ram head was on it.
5 - Use a dremel to cut off the bottom portion of the badge (i.e. the Turbo Diesel part). Cut a little lower than the "C" as it is just a coated piece and the finish will flake if you get too close.
6 - You'll need some good, strong, 2 sided adhesive tape to reattached the backing to the grill. Attach the "C" to the backing with the tape and then the backing to the grill. It's easier to center the "C" on the backing with it off the grill.

Well thats cool. I didn't know that was a "Badge" I thought it was molded in to the grill assembly. I might play with mine too.
I have already thought about putting the "C" back on the front fenders.
