low boost
since i changed my vp44 about 3 weeks ago,truck run good and i got alot of fuel now,
in fact i got so much fuel that egt get out of control too fast
and i never had this before,but i saw that boost stop building around 20 and if i push hard enough and carefull not to go too high i can go to 25 but i have to stop there cuz egt climb to 1400 at
that point....
ive stacked my smarty whit my edge and now truck pull stronger than ever but i have to watch egt closely,
even before i put smarty into the equation i hadnt over 25psi of boost but i had no egt problems
i was accustomed to see around 40psi easy
maybe a air leak?
since i put my smarty on RPM-MPH-BOOST-EGT are all connected to the same pedal DAMN I LOVE THAT THING,just have to find why it dont go over 25 and at 40psi it will be perfect

I noticed a bit less boost with the Smarty than I did with the Edge alone.
BUT, I also noticed lower EGT's with it.
If I have the Edge cranked up, my times on the track were a bit slower because it would de-fuel and I had to back out because of the temps.
Now, when I cranked the Smarty up and turned the Edge down, the EGT's came into check and the times got faster. But, I wasn't bouncing off my boost limiter either.
Try turning the Edge down and come up on the Smarty.

Rich. . .you just reminded me of something. . .when I bumped up the timeing on my smarty alone my EGT's were lower, then when I bumped the rail pressure, my EGT's and boost numbers both went down. getting the fuel in sooner I do know lowers EGT's and there is also less heat in the exhaust so there is less energy going to the turbo.

That's what I'm doing with it right now.
I have the timing bumped with the Smarty, not a lot of advance but a bit. And I'm using the Edge's timing too.
I have the TQ management turned off and it comes on pretty good down low.
But, yeah, you're right, the boost comes on lower and just doesn't peak as high.
I think I may have to retard the timing juuuuuust a bit though. I'm getting a bit too much smoke under low throttle and I have the Ege on 1 and the Smarty on 1 right now. It'll actually haze pretty good. Especially since I just changed my nasty fuel filter. [:-]
