Default Rear Gears for 2007 Ram

I believe it was only in 2007 I notice Dodge was offering 3.42 gears in the 6-manual diesel trucks. Does any one have a truck with these gears? If so, how is you performance and mileage? I was thinking about changing my gears out for the 3.42s.

When I ordered my 2007 with the G56 manual transmission, the only gearing available was 3.73:1. As far as I know, nobody makes any gears for the AAM 11.5" diffs other than 3.73 and 4.10.

Ive got 3.42's on my '08 G56, mileage is still rough as there is only 4k on it. On the highway, the lie o meter says 17mpg at 70 mph. I think I'm pulling 1800 rpm @ 60 mpg but not sure cuz Ive got 285's on.
