my buddy worked in Kansas City for approx 6 months said he didn't go for the town or the people. Which is surprising as he is very friendly. He also showed up dead of winter so I have a feeling that a lot of folks dont go out too much at that time of the year.

I'd most likely be staying within 5~10 miles from work, 3 things would happen... work eat/sleep & the gym... I just got word that I'll hear back Monday or Tuesday, they need 3 people out there for 6 mo to 1 year. I ok'd me for the 6 mo option & said we could extend it if necessary. if it goes thru, fuel prices will not be an issue

I spent a little time out there when I worked for the "large telecom company". It was nice, folks were nice but I missed the damn trees. Their trees are just wimpy...

Steve, I live in Blue Springs and actually am a firefighter/emt for fire protection district that covers Blue Springs, Grain Valley, and Lake Tapawingo. What will you be doing out here work wise. Maybe we can hook up. The city is nice, a lot of construction goin on right now, people vary, you have your nice ones and then the ****bags as in any city. Any other info you would like to know. I have been here since I was two years old and my dad is superintendent of public works, so I know quite a bit.

DAMN!!! thats awesome... the dodge forum family rocks... it's not set in stone yet, still have to talk with the lead engineer about the position. It is a programming position writing test applications for product verification using LabView & TestStand.

From what I've researched, Blue Springs is about 20~25 mi from downtown... sound about right? Next week will be an interesting one, the company I'm at now is supposed to make an offer to keep me permanant, I'm not holding my breath as it was supposed to happen back in December and didnt. I have 2 managers both submitting reqs for a person with my skill set, should be interesting. The opprotunity in Grain Valley will net me 15k or so more than what I earn now and would be an opportunity to recoupe some savings spent when I was off work most of last year.

anyways, Blue Springs, Grain Valley & Oak Grove... are they all a decent place to call home for 6 months or so? Not a big fan of the city so farther east would be my 1st choice...

Yes, Grain Valley is growing drastically and Oak Grove is more of your country type city. All would be just fine to live in for those six months.

Off of this subject steve, but we have had a great deal of rain in the last few weeks and things extremely soupy. My old boss called me yesterday and said he had sunk his tractor brush hoggin. So I went out there to pull him out with the cummins. I just got my pro comp ext ats a couple of weeks ago and was excited to see how they would do. Well, they exceeded my expectations. The first time tryin to pull, it was too wet and I damn near sunk the axles to the ground. I unhooked, backed up a little bit and punched it. Four rooster tails and clean tires later, I walked out with no problems. This is a hell of a tire, I didnt think they would clean that quick. Im impressed. sorry for the long post, just had to let you know.
