Default Problem

So my brother has an '01 Cummins. He hauled a load today and got home and was leaking diesel. When he went to move it, it started very hard. When we went to move it later, it wouldn't start.

Fuel was leaked all over the fender walls and underside of the body. Any ideas? Full Pump maybe?

What about the o ring on the fuel canister on the last filter change did it possibly not get seated correctly resulting in a pinch, or maybe the valve is leaking draining the fuel reservoir. my $0.02. Hopefully it is something that easy.

Wasn't there a particular fuel line that had a tendency to blow on the 24v's?

If it's all over the place, then it's AT or AFTER the injection pump. The high pressure is what sprays is. Check the HP fuel lines and the pump. If it was just one line, the truck should run, it would just miss fire.

Right....that`s what I mean. It'll run, but will hard start and miss fire and fuel will spray. From the sounds of it, its a line. Probably let air in back to the pump and now needs to be primed.

Yeah a hard start usually means air in the line. That is what happened to me when I thought my VP44 was dying.

I'll let you know what they say. He towed it to the shop since neither one of us can spare any time to fix it right now.
