Default 2500/3500 front coils

sorry i havent been around guys, i have just been biting off more than i can chew lately but i still think about y'all every day!

so my plans are to re-do my suspension by adding 2 leaf springs on each side in the back, and new coils that will hold more weight and level my truck in the front. well the shop by me tells me that since the truck is so new, there is nothing after market for the coils in there books. now i know i have seen a few online but i remember them being expensive. he told me to check the junk yards and see if there is a diffrence in 3/4 ton to the 1 ton trucks and if it was a thinker coil then they could just throw that in. does anyone know if they are the same size?

The front coils are the same on the 2500 and 3500. The only difference between the 2, is that the 3500 has an overload spring.

Obviously, the local shop guyknows nothing about 2500/3500 CTD suspensions. Look at Don Thuren or Carli Suspension for your coils (3") and replace that big chunk of metal that is your overload leaf in the rear leafs and replace it w/ a mini pack. Still keep factory tow/haul capacity and get rid of the rear end kick and hopping (equals better than stock ride w/ 1"more height in the rear). Your truck will be leveled and I suggest getting some shocks also (replace the stockers, if you haven't already) w/ atleast Bilstien 5100's.

Theres a lot around for you to choose from. You may also want to check out Lorenz Industries. He's got a number of product (coils and all) for our trucks. My truck rides much better than stock since I put the 5100 setup on it.

Welcome back Nick. I thought you were stuck in a sewer again somewhere.

How about springs from a dually? They should be heavier (11,500gvw to 9900gvw). Might be worth checking it out. Probably only give about a 1" or so lift thou.

that will be something to look into but after the research i have done i am losing interest in doing this at the moment. i was hoping the shop would have something they can order and just throw it on. i will be ordering my 33' tires in the next week or 2 and i know that the tires will fit on the truck the way it is now so i am going to wait till winter to see how the biggers wheels sit with my plow on and if i need to beef the suspension up then i will do so.
