I think I'd be more afraid of the cushion wearing out and becomming elongated and having some REAL movement going on there. I can definately see how the rear cushion ( closest to the ball ) could get squished.
Yeah, but at least it should get inspected more often than all the rubber suspension bushings on our trucks. Interesting concept for sure. There's a heck of a lot of pounding that the frame can take when you consider all the pot holes, cracks and general road debris a trailer can hit and slowdown or speed up. Not sure how much good it'll serve depending on where your equalizer or stabilizer bars hook up, but if they all attach right where the hitch ball is like most setups, it should still work as intended.

The pin hole is only so big, so doesnt allow much movement. There is no play on the inside of the hitch, and the end is capped off. The poly bumpers inside is not as big as the picture shows, it has steel ends so there wouldnt be any negative results if the poly bumpers did wear. It would be just like having a regular old hitch.

I use a mor/ryde pin box hitch on my fifth wheel (www.morryde.com). It is rubber mounted. It is like night and day compared to standard pins. This receiver looks simiular in concept, and if the rubber material is same, should last for years. Definitely makes the drive more enjoyable.

Sweet My ride will probably be finished by then, but taking the motor cycle to Laughlin Friday morning until Sunday morning depending on time I may be able to meet you for an evening run Sunday, or wednesday.
