the servers got hit by a virus of sorts, that is why there is a problem.

Sounds like either a Microsoft software failed after an update and its taken time to fix what it breaks or it was a known problem to Microsoft but they failed to inform the people that they could be hurt by a known virus.

from what ive been told, it was a microsoft based server issue, but many sites were fine because the software was able to get through the problem...unfortunately, this software was not one of them.

To bad someone does not make either a Unix or Linux program like you use right now so that you could get away from using Microsoft software and the headaches that go with it.
