FED UP
the CTD is going back to the dealer monday, again for the CEL light coming on. it keeps throwing the following; transmission line pressure low, and turbo boost pressure not detected. it has thrown the CEL about 8 times for diffrent stuff since i got the truck, and i am really starting to get pissed. i bought a new truck to avoid the dealer, not to have to go there every other week. i should not have to deal with this on a new $54000 truck. it has been nothing but a headache since i bought it. i am ready to tell them to keep it, maybe get a 3/4 ton hemi, or maybe even go back to GM, depending on how Chrysler handles this. well the dealer said the turbo was gummed up with carbon. and the tool to clean it is on backorder. they said they tried to get dodge to replace the turbo but had no luck. dodge wants to attempt cleaning it first. so now i have to look at the CEL for two to three weeks until they get the tool. so now i guess i can expect this to be regular occurance, since this happened in 24,000 miles. now is there any way to block off the EGR, and will that stop the turbo from getting carboned up? and will that void my warranty???

Thecity I used to work for bought two 6.7L CTD's about a year ago based on how great their two 5.9L CTD's have been.
They have both been back to the dealer numerous times for CEL's with no resolution. Last time I talked to the city mgr. (a couple of months ago) they were sitting in a city maintenance parking lot waiting for the dealer to call with a PCM update.
The city mgr. refuses to let them be used with a CEL and the dealer has been waiting for months for an update to possibly fix the issue.
From what I understand, the newer Ford diesels have the same issues. I guess everyone rushed new engine designs out the door to meet the newer EPA regulations...

i just don't understand, the government gives the auto MFG's until 2010 to get the emissions under control, why rush out these unproven and untested systems to be out in 2007? they could have done 3 more years of R&D to get it right.
