MPG update/info...
went to Washington over the weekend and did a new tst setting mileage test. with a load, set to 5 power, 3 torque on economy setting, same driving style (see mpg thread in sig)... we saw 19.2 mpg going up with a "2 mattress wind load" (meaning 2 mattereses on end so the thin side). So I figured I'd run the same settings on the way back. ran approx 350 miles (would have to go get the data for the exact mileage number) and got 20.58 mpg. A new all time high! I was so excited that the little woman started giving me a hard time cause I have nothing better to do... lol

anyways... for you tst powermax cr49 users, another setting to consider for mileage.

Those are some sweet numbers. I have never gone along with the whole bigger tires less mileage thing, maybe in the city that is true, but I went to 35"s on mine and highway stayed the same (18-20mpg)and haven't really been able to check in town as I have been pretty much idling everywhere, or sitting still waiting to launch my boat or jetskis, etc.
Biggest difference I can see is keepingan eye onspeed, thats where the mileage can really go up or down.

I just switched tires/rims on my jetta and it also dropped some mileage... approx 2. same diameter tire, just 5 lbs heavier for each wheel & tire combo.
I will probably go to a 35" tire when the 2nd set of 33's that are in the garage are worn out... 2010~2012 or so lol, at the rate these pro comps are going, it might be 2009 before these come off. (current tires that are on there still ahve plenty of tread)
did the speed limit mostly... 60~65. that matches what i'd been doing in the testing. thinking of driving the truck 2~3 days to work next week to see how it compares to the other numbers I have. my guess is it wont be the same but should be mid 19's.

I believe it's a weight thing... more rotational mass to get moving & keep moving.

I just made a trip pulling my loaded trailer(8500 lbs) for 320 miles then drove another 133 miles with 500 lbs in the trailer and got 14.1 hand calculated with the Edge on stock, cruise set on 1750 rpm. So I guess I almost made the 500 mile club!
