Default Smarty Fuel pressure

Have the Jr set at 70 HP setting. Up until now fuel pressure has been 9 lbs. This morning it was running 12 and spiking up to 16 lbs. I reset the program back to stock and now it is back to 9 lbs. Fuel filter was changed 5000 miles ago. First question how high of FP is to high with a stock fuel pump. Second why would it have shot up all at once like it did.
Hope there are enough guys reading this forum yet to help. Posts have sure gone down for what ever reason. I usually don't post much but did enjoy reading. Learned a long time ago that I learn more by listening.
Thanks guys

Default RE: Smarty Fuel pressure

can't say why you saw a spike in psi but, the stock CP3 likes around 20 to 22psi in my experience. You're not going to ever get that from your stock LP though. The Smarty does call for more fuel so, It's possible your stock LP is going out even though it's pretty new. It also could have been a air bubble in the gauge line ??? You should look into installing a aftermarket pump to bump up the psi. anyway. The stock will go without warning.
