Value Of Our Trucks Going Down!
I have a 06 Cummins 4X4 loaded with big tires, level kit on it looks and runs nice they only give me 18K for it. I owe 25 or 26k. Therefore i am on the hole as well. I wanted the 08 6.7 with 22K off the sticker price but can't manage the negative equity.
Someone wants to buy a nice 06 CTD 4X4 with 50k miles.

I was only asking 8,000 for trade on my 99 with new IP, LP, 20,000 on turbo, injectors and less than 2,000 on new Wildcat SXT Mud Terrain tires[>:]. Got laughed at by the salesman. Neddless to say, I looking for truck again. But i'm KEEPING my 99 this time, to good of a truck to give away.
I just traded my 2007 2500 CTD 6.7L Auto Quad 4x2 Laramie and it had 30k miles. Traded for a 2008 1500 4.7L Quad 4x2 SLT Big Horn which was at 50% off sticker ($15,995). I was offered $17k for trade, thankfully I only owed $19+k. I reduced my payment by nearly $75 and have a new truck. If your getting $14k with that kind of mileage, take it.
I was tired of taking the CTD in every 2500-3000 miles for a MIL. It was just a hassle when the dealer kept the truck for a day or two each time.

It's not just our trucks. A coworker just bought a new Tundra 20K off the sticker. The sticker was 45K and he offered 25K take-it-or-leave-it and they took it. The way he figured, 20K buys ALOT of gas.
I drove to see my parents over the weekend and as I came through the country, I kept seeing a familiar sight. Trucks and SUV's parked along peoples property out in the country with For Sale signs on them. I'm guessing that people that live out in the country and commute to the city are really hurting. On the flip side, if you wanted a truck, what an awesome time to get one. Once they reduce production to levels to match demand, these prices will go back up on the trucks.
I've been noticing the same thing Reed. It's sad what's happening to America.
On another note, 14K for an 02 I think is about the best you're going to get. Why are you looking to move up? Tired of the 02 and like the 3rd gens better? Just curious since yours is barely even broken in.

I just traded my 01 1500 QC 5.9l (gas) with 33" tires, dual exhaust, fisher plow 140000 mi for an 06 3500 QC CTD 5.9l cold air intake, dual exhaust, fisher plow 35" tires 42000 mi. I got $5000 for the 01 and paid $25000 for the 06. The dealer wanted $34900 for the 06. I told them $5000 for mine and I will pay $25000 cash right now... Three days later they called me and said bring the money down with your 01
