Default Front end problems

I have a 2500 quad cab long bed 4x4 04 in year. While traveling at speeds over 45 if i hit a bump while entering a curve the front end shakes so bad i have to stop the truck it feels like the wheels have fell off. I have replaced the shocks with ranch 9000 and also a new steering stabilizer.. Any suggestions please help

are you tires D load rated or E the truck came with E most people put on D as a replacment then you cant put in the correct TP you also need to ck your tierod ends there is updated linkage from dodge you need your caster set as close to 4 drg as pos ant set the toe to spec. you also need to make sure there are no other loose parts

ah... the dreaded "death wobble" ... lots of reading to do on this beast. check out TDR.com and DTR.com lots of info on these two sites just do a search on "death wobble"

here are a few things you can check yourself...

get some one to turn steering wheel (engine running) while you check front end:
- pay attention to the trac bar for movement (bad/worn bushings)
- check the pitman arm for play

with engine off:
- grab tie rods see if you can twist them by hand if they can be twisted they're shot need to R&R
- jack one wheel up at a time just sligtly off the floor/ground using a large prybar insert under tire and lift have some one do this while another looks for movement in the ball joints

as mentioned could likely be the tires try swapping front to back. certain make of tires have caused death wobble (BFG A/T I believe) larger diameter tires can cause th problem as well as some of the lrger tires have been known not to be "round?"

forget the 4*... have the tech put in as much caster as possible & still have it drive straight. Had the DW on my 2000 ram 1x and after much research, decided that the caster change was the correct fix. after doing the caster change I had tracbars wear out, TRE's wear out (normal wear & tear) and never had the DW again. I even had BFG's on there that were worn down and still no DW.

now on my 2005, I had the alignment done right after getting it and had them add the caster to it. Again, never a DW problem. I've had my TRE's shot, stabilizer bar shot and now my control arm bushings are shot (did alot of 4x4ing ) and I still dont have DW problems. Look at the sig pic... 33x13.5x18's, E rated, 81k miles on them currently (yeah they are getting close to being done ) and even with the loose CAB's, still no DW...
