Default 96 ram 5.9 Cummins, no oil pressure after power steering pump replacement

Good afternoon all, great forum......my problem....I replaced my power steering pump today and in doing so I had to disconnect two electrical plugs just on top of the pump, and I had to remove a plug (bolt).I don't know what the plug serviced, but when i removed the plug about a quart of oil came out of it.I replaced everything and now my gauge says I have no oil pressure, my question is where is the oil sending unit and does anyone know what that plug was..the plug is just to the rear of the pump(not on the pump)

any suggestions would help

Thanks in advance
Gord

did you recheck the oil level? I know they take a lot of oil, (12 qts.), but it might be enough to not register if you haven't checked it in a while. You also might have shorted out a fuse when unplugging the two electrical connections. If these are on the same circuit as your sending unit, it might not work. A couple of Hail Mary's, but I always start cheap, and work my way up to more expensive potentials.

I am sure that was your oil pressure sending unit. They are below the injector pump but even it it wasn't you might have hit it. Dont worry, The sending units go out often and they are cheep. Just check all you plugs first and wires first.
