Default value of 95 chassis cab

I found a 95 chassis cab,CTD automatic.2wd with 324k miles on it.owner says the tranny is going south on it.I can rebuild the tranny myself no problem thier. He is asking$2500 for it.It has some kind of utility bed on it.don't know what options or anything that is on it yet.I don't have the cash for it but he was intersted in trading for my 92 w150.I have new tires and rebuilt tranny in it and a snow plow and Leer topper.I kind of think my truck is worth more, but i need a hd truck not a half ton.Do you think that chassis cab has any life left in it?

Yes, the 12V have better fuel economy and are easier to 'bomb' for high horsepower

check the bottom of the doors for rust,
the condition of the rubber 'donuts' that isolate the cab from frame,
do some panic brakes and see if the truck wants to steer off center line,
check TSBs

for rebuilding the early 47RH autos check out this post and the forum there:

if the 95 body and frame are really bad
consider finding a 'mint condition' V10 gasoline Ram that sell now very cheaply
and transplant the diesel drive train into it
