Default Need help with tires

Hey guys, I know I have been gone a long time. Been working and tryin to buy a house and doin all kinds of other stuff that have really limited my online time but now I need some help from yall. Heres the deal: I'm about to get some new rims (17s) and tires (35s) for my truck. If I recall correctly I need to level the front end of my truck and get a certain backspacing on my new rims in order to fit 35s without rubbing. Correct so far? What I need to know is what backspacing do I need? I have searched all over the internet and this site and cannot seem to find exactly what backspacing is needed.

Also have any of yall bought or sold a set of factory dodge 8 lug wheels? What is the going price for a set with only 15k miles and NO scratches or blemishes? I have not been able to find that information online either. I will be selling them locally so if any of yall know of anyone that wants some factory wheels in great condition with a gently used set of BFG Rugged Trail All Terrains (15k on them) that lives near Beaumont, TX let me know.

I don't know the backspacing but If your getting new wheels you might want to think about 18" wheels. There are very few companies that make an E load 35X17. The ones I've found so far are Nitto, Toyo, and interco. It seems everyone makes it once you jump to an 18.

Thanks I'll have to check into that. Price is a big concern for me, which is the whole reason i was going with 17s versus 18s. You'd be amazed at the price difference in the same rim and tire combo between 17s and 18s. Thank you for your reply though. And anyone who is looking at some new wheels and/or tires, check out customwheelsdirect.com. They seem to have the cheapest prices out of all the websites I've been to and all the shops around here I've gotten prices from.

Yeah, they have 'em for 75% off still but they have the prices way jacked up too. I don't know what those particular wheels usually go for but they had 'em advertised at like $690 something regular price.

So no one knows what backspacing I'm gonna need?

common number I've been seeing is 4.5" backspacing. But offset is going to be determined by rim width?

Still trying to figure this one out too...

John, Let me know what you want for your wheels. Are they 17" with 'E' rated tires?
I will be in Houston most of Dec. and would make the trip to pick them up.
my e:mail is DHBGL1800@sbcglobal.net.

Default Hey Beaumont

How are you. Carl here in Sabine County/Hemphill, just north of you. I had a set of 35 BFGs on the stock rims. Fit great but stupid me forgot about the load rating and at 26000 miles they came apart. I had to go with 18 rims (Teflon coated Mojave) and 33 Pro-Comp Xtreme A/Ts. Stuck out a liitle so had to trim just a little bit. Other than that great tires. I also have the stock rims for sell with 35 BFGs mounted on them and a brand new 35 BFG spare never on the ground. Will sell all five for $400.00. Just now buying my spare so I need the money also. Write back to carl07230@yahoo.com. Not often someone is on here from my neck of the woods.

also worth mentioning is the pro comp xtreme at's... I have the 33x13.5x18's which are e rated. currently have 82k on them and still not down to the wear bars yet.

they have never left me stuck in any situtation I'm willing to put my 7k lb truck in... snow, shallow mud, sand. works great for off roading IMO. Only drawback is it has some road noise to it. but hey what is the stereo for?
