Default Picked up my 1999 last night

Well, I picked up my 1999 last night. This is not a truck. this is a super truck! I picked it up off ebay for $12,500 with 56,121 miles on it from a local ebay dealer.

All it needed to pass inspection where 2 front rotors. I am looking at upgrading/replacing the struts/shock and Steering stabilizer/steering damper as this truck was a tow truck for a 5th wheel. Looks to have beefed up helper leaf springs on the rear?. part of the 5th wheel hitch is still in the bed. Has a brake controller also. Not going to be towing anything anytime soon. This will be more my winter vehicle and hardware store runner and play toy. Gives me something to drive to work while I work on my other cars also.

Any suggestions on things I should look at? I've done some research and am aware of some issues with the pin that can fall out into the timing gears area.

What struts/shocks are people using?

Well congrats on your purchase.
First thing since you bought a 24v VP44 truck, is please get a fuel pressure gauge installed. It may save you some head ache in the future.
As far as shocks, it is your choice. I used Eldebrock, but Bilstein also makes a good one for our trucks. The track bar you may want to do a 3rd Gen track bar set up but again it is up to you. If you put a new one in it may last 10k or 30k before the wondering returns.
Other than that enjoy your truck.

Congrats on the buy! Make sure to put gauges on it especially a fuel pressure one! Egts, boost and trans temp are also good choices.
