Default Vibration felt in my throttle

So this truck has done this since i bought it a few months ago. Its an 02 2500 with an auto trans. From a dead stop i'll start going and when it goes to shift into second i feel a vibration in my throttle pedal. I dont hear anything over the truck, but i deff feel it only in the pedal. it also is only shifting from first to seconde. I need to get my tranny fluid changed as it is discolored a little and smells a little like clutch, but still mostly red in color. I hope thats all it is.

I would check the U-joints... if it was a vibration when slowing down only, it might be pinion/ring in the diffs.

Sorry for late responce. Its not the u-joints. The vibration or shutter is felt in the throttle pedal only when shifting up from first to second gear.

if that fluid smells like clutch, then its burning up, sounds like the trans is beginning to take a turn for hell.

Damn it, I hope not. I was hoping the burned fluid was just from me playin to hard. I'm gonna have to take it into a shop. Maybe if I can catch it soon enough I can fix it and it wont hurt that bad.

My hunch is its the TC. Why else would there be a shutter. In wich case that would suck, but it would be ok cause then it woudl give me an excuse to put a heavier one in that locks up sooner. Anyone else have some thoughts?

possibly, but from my experience with chrysler transmissions burnt fluid normally indicated the transmission is ready for a rebuild.

Hhmmm I wander how much a rebuild is gonna set me back if I throw a heavier TC in it too. I just hope its from power over and to much torque making the TC slip. lol We will see i guess. Thanks for the help.

anytime, and as for the price of a rebuild. i have all heavy duty internals in my dakota's 42re including the torque converter. i got it all done for $2500. only thing salvaged out of the old transmission was the case itself should of been about $3500, but connections in the auto industry does give you a big upper hand.
