Exclamation HELP engine surges

accelerates fine , starts fine, when at steady speeds rpms surge 150 or so just for a second. does it sporadically no ryme or reasom. checked fuel pressure at clean side of filter- 9 @ idle, 7 @ 2000 rpm. I have heard talk of sensors, but dont know where to look for them. truck is 98 w/ 24v, 140 k miles. vp 44 has a reman sticker on it. thats all i know about it. thanks for any input

Remove and clean all your battery connections and check the grounding leads. Use an
internal brush to clean the cables and a brush cleaning of the battery posts.

Put everything back togather and this could end your problem.

if it's an automatic, it's possible the torque converter keeps unlocking and locking back up.

Default HELP engine surges

it actually cooled off and I drove without AC and surge doesnt seem to happen. is there a solenoid that kicks it up for ac?

I take that back. it did it yesterday, once with no AC, but definitely more with AC. just noticed fuel leak. clean everything off, tightened all fittings, and start it and the leak is at the terminals on bottom of lift pump. never heard of that one!
