the dodge power wagon been around for years off and on... goes all the way back to WW2 when they produced the POWER WAGON for the military... they were great trucks back then.
The cummins has so much power it would be lethal in the power wagon. If you got stuck tighter than hell and locked both differentials, the cummins could break every component, if the hemi won't.
The Power Wagon is built to be an off-road truck. The Cummins diesel weights a lot more than the 5.7, which puts it at a disadvantage in certain situations off-road, hence the availability of the Hemi engine only.
I own a 51 Power Wagon and to me it would have made more sense to keep the old tradition of 6 cylinders, deff not flat head, but inline would work to. Should have also designed a T-case with 4x2 low as well like the original. You'd also think it would have more PTO's. The old ones had one for winch in the front and any implaments you wanted for the back. My rear PTO has a 33,000 lbs winch in the rear. Truly the best vehicle Dodge has ever produced, IMO.
