Test drove 2005, quad, 2500 CTD last Sat. Had incredibly loud exhaust tone. Having previously driven a 2004 CTD, was amazed how quiet it was for a diesel. Looked underneath the 2005 and only saw what appeared to be a resonator under the door area of the right side floor. Is there a large muffler normally installed and if so where to look along the underside??

sounds like the previous owner deleted the muffler. If it was there you would see it the stock mufflers are huge like 3 feet long.

 

Yah, just before the bend to go over the rear axle.
