If you are talking about how to check for any stored fault codes, what you do is; turn the ignition key, from "OFF" to "ON" (not start) 3 times. on the 3rd time leave it on and read your odometer. It should read the letter "P" followed by a 4 digit number, this is your fault code. If you ever get a "Check Eng." light, you should do this to see what triggered the light. Hope this helps.

If it's an older truck, you will have to count the blinking lights http://www.dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/tro..._DTC_codes.htm

Others have it already. Also a post in the DIY section on this. I pulled codes from my 04 SRT and my old 05 Hemi with the trick, very handy.
