Default Oil Analysis Report

Here is a copy of my last used oil analysis done by Blackstone Labs: http://h1.ripway.com/hildenja/Oil An...v 2008_web.pdf

I have been having a fuel contamination problem ever since my first oil anaylsis, although it seems to be getting better on it's own. I spoke to a Dodge service guy about it last fall when I was in for some warranty work. He didn't seem too concerned about it.

I know a few of the other 6.7L owners have seen similar fuel contamination problems. How many of you guys get your used oil analyzed? I find it interesting to compare numbers.

Besides my engine oil, I will also get my diff oil analyzed. As you prolly know, Dodge recommends a change every 15,000 miles. I changed mine at 20,000 and now have about 75,000 on the odo. I just don't understand the 15K change out when big rigs go 100k? Makes no sense unless the AAMs are just cheap junk. Well, kinda bitting my nails now wondering what will it look like

It's just $$ that they wanna make off of us!! Every single car dealership of every make, are the same way. They will try and suck your blood out by telling you that your vehicle needs this and that blah blah blah!!! And each little thing is over $100. 15,000 for diff oil change is way too early in my opinion even if you tow alot with it. Again, just my opinion.

I have to aggree, I changed my differential fluid at the recommended 15,000 miles and it looked like new with no visible metal present. I am surprised that they don't recommend changing power steering fluid ever. I will change all my fluids as per manufactures maintenance schedule until the warranty is up. After that I am going to change the differentials, transfercase, and transmission every 30,000 miles to start with.

Some dealer's will actually tell you to change your power steering fluid at a low mileage interval. Ive experienced it before with Toyota dealer when I took my 02 Sequoia with only 14000. See how far they would go??

Yeah, I was just reading the service manual for my wifes car. It says for the differential "lifetime fluid, no fluid change required". So i got the two extremes. One says change it once a month and the other says dont EVER change it. WTF?
