Default Lost in a Dodge

I'm not sure if I'm in the right forum or not..My father recently passed away and was the owner of a 1992 12 Valve Cummins Turbo Diesel. Being that I was his only daughter, he passed it on to me. I, unfortunately, don't have any use for it, but, everyone keeps telling me now is not the time to sell a diesel. I blue booked it at $5400. I've been trying to sell it for 5 even with no luck. I guess my question is, am I going about this wrong? I've only listed it on Craigslist and am not really sure of what I'm doing. I know it's a 1992, with pretty high mileage, and it's a 12 valve. After that, I'm at a standstill. Anyway, any help you can give would be much appreciated. Thank you for listening to me ramble and I hope you all are having a great day!!

There are lots of guys interested in the 1st gen Dodge/Cummins trucks. $5k may be a bit high, depending on your location, overall condition, and mileage.

You could try ebay and your local paper.
There are Dodge/Cummins forms where you could post it, but you would have to join (free) and some have minimum post count needed for selling.

Good luck.

12 valve trucks are in demand in the Dodge truck realm. The above post is good advise. There are several forums around that focus on Dodge diesel trucks including this one. I suggest you join several, meet the minimum post requirement and then list it in the classified area on each one. It's free, and you'll be helping some guy or gal get their first diesel truck. BTW, these trucks are not considered to have high mileage until they are well over 100K miles, well over.

First, my condolences on the passing of your father.

Where are you located?

I know several folks that are in the market for a 12V.

Only stumbling block may be that it's a '92.

They changed the engine mounts in '94 and that leads to some fabrication issues when guys do swaps.

That's probably THE only reason that you haven't seen more action on craigslist.

Normally a 12V (1994+) doesn't last a week after it's been listed.

$5K is what some folks will pay for the motor alone.

+1. The 12 valves are highly sought after due to the fact that they need no computer to run...
