Default Opinions Wanted

Guys...looking at getting either a RAM 2500 or an F150, both new...any opinions regarding the following comparisons:

Towing capacity
Practicality (is it good for family also)
The Cummins
Which has better convenience features? I like to have some toys on the inside also...

Any way to get my search off on the right foot is appreciated thanks!

Not to be a smartass or anything, but why are you comparing apples to oranges?
The F150 is a 1/2 ton truck and the Ram3500 is a 1 ton with much different characteristics.

You can't even fairly compare the F-150 with the 1500 in alot of cases.

Good truck for towing and hauling. Serious vehicle for the professional that needs a HD truck.

The F-150 is used way to much for what it is supposed to do. An example is You can put a snow plow on a f-150 ,but not on a 1500 ram. My old 95 Bronco could out pull most rams that I saw. But in the end i chose a Hemi ram 1500. How come you want a 2500? It's not a pleasure truck the 1500 is. A good test is take both out for a road test. then while out make a u turn on the road. see which one can turn the best in a short space.them try to park both of them in a mall parking lot. Let us know how you make out. Dodge has the best rebate offers right now. They are almost giving away there trucks. The Hemi sucks for gas mileage. But it will pass any Ford on the road and give you back change.

I do think the Ram 1500 has a higher tow rating than the f-150. I do agree that you need to test drive them. My best friend has an 04 f-150 and doesn't come close to running, handling, comfort wise, appearance, or whatever with the Ram.

my 2500 does a good U-ie, all I have to do is hit the throttle and it will spin the back end around easily. I also got back from a 1100 mile trip and am about to do it again in my 2500. very enjoyable aside from the roads in Alabama being horrid[:'(]

the Cummins that is in the 2500 is one of the best engines you can get for a truck. More power than Ford or Chevy, the engine will run like a top for decades, and it has better fuel economy than Ford or Chevy.

now, in my issue #46 of TDR, there is a possability of a Cummins in the 1500. there will be two versions, a 4.2L V6 (270hp/400tq) and a 5.6L V8 (350hp/550tq). now how would you like to have something like that in a 1500

if you want to know more check out TDR

My roomie has a 150 and his doesn't come close in comfort, suspension, power, or looks (he has the heritage edition). I think the 1500 smokes the 150. I also have a QC and can smoke his single cab anyday.(V8 vs. V6). But overall, not being byassed I do love my Dodge compared to the 150. But definitely drive both and make up your own mind.
