Default Floor Jack?

I have a 2 1/2 ton floor jack with 3 ton jack stands. That I used with my 1500. Will they work with my 05 2500? Don't want to get under it and have it fall.

Thanks

Sure, they should be fine. A Ram 2500 CTD shouldn't weigh more than about 6,500 lbs. Let's say you're trying to lift the entire front end with the floor jack. These trucks are heavier in the front than the rear, so let's say the jack is lifting 4,000 when you raise the front. 2-1/2 tons in 5,000 lbs, so you're well within the range. The jack stands will each hold 6,000 lbs, so those will definitely be fine also.

You would be surprised actually. I tried lifting the whole front end with a 2 1/2 ton jack to change the front tires and it wouldn't do it. I had to do the fronts seperately.

Weight of a 2500 CTD, QC, 4x4 with a 1/2 tank of fuel is 6,880 lbs.
