Need help asap
If your truck is an 06 it should already have the newer in tank lift pump. It's superior to the filter mounted pumps the early engines had.
I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts to give you trouble.
FASS or Airdog would be good ideas if your factory pump lets go.
As far as your CP3 pump (not really an injector pump) quality fuel filters, proper maintenance will go a long way.
Buy your fuel from a newer busy gas station and use a lubrication adding fuel additive will also increase fuel component life.

hey guys thanks for your in put. I have a reall funny story to tell you and everybody else that takes their trucks to doge dealers. So my truck got brought in on mon this week. They said they order the part but it has not come in yet, this is on tues. So i called wens they said sorry still not in. Now im thinking what the **** its a 20 dollar fule line. So i called yesterday and they said no still not in. So i called a Cummins plant that is down the road from me. I asked if they had a number 4 injector line they said ya wqe have 3 of them. So i called the place back and said i will drop off the part to them so they can fix my truck. The lady said well we have a bigger problem. We had a eletric problem in our shop and do not know when it will be fixed, all mechnis went home yesterday (wens day). I said are you ****ing kidden me you had my truck for two days and no body was there. I said tow my truck to the cummins plant down the road. So my truck got to the plant yesterday at 5 in the afternoon and it was fixed by 8 last night. I asked the guy how much he said 60 bucks so i gave him a 100 and told him thanks alot. Now this is where the story gets ****ed up. I wake up this morning to read the local paper And behold on the front page the dealership i brought my truck to shut there doors tues day morning. So beware of where you take your trucks concidering alot of dealers are closing shop.thanks again guys for all of the help.
Oh man did you dodge a bullet!
If they got shut down (bailiff seizure or bankruptcy) they could have seized your truck as an asset then you have to prove the truck is yours to get it back.
Years ago some guys I know were mechanics at a dealer that went under. Bailiff showed up after hours and chained the doors with their tool boxes still in the shop. Took months to get it all sorted out.
Go buy a lottery ticket!

Holy hell man! Thats a heck of a story. I am a mechanic myself and if someone wouldnt let me get to my tools....I would imagine there would be some issues. Congrats on the fix man...glad you didn't have to give an arm and leg...this time!
So i drove by the dealer with my fixed truck over the weekend and to my behold **** was on lock down. Gates locked up about 12 cars that were locked up with the owners trying to figure out a way to get them out.I guess some bank now owns the property and its going to take a couple of days if not weeks to get the **** out. So ya i'm going to buy a lotery ticket tonight and if i win I'm going to buy the dealership and set it a blaze. Anyways hope people out there learn from this close call.
ya i put the injectors in a while ago before the fule line broke. I had the same dealer put them in. So i know if something craps out on them i'm up the creek. luckly i have a huge cummins plant right down the road from me. So if anything go's a rye i have some guys there that tune up their own trucks so i feel comfortable about them working on the truck. Still not sure what i'm going to do with the fass system and pump.
