Default bad gas mileage, possible tranny or tc problem?

Hey guys,

My 97 was getting a consistent 14 mpg all around until about a month ago. Now all of a sudden I am getting 10 or less. Since this started I have removed the cat, and had a problem with the fuel shutoff solenoid which I fixed. I have a transmission (i think) rattle that doesnt go away until it revs to about 1000, and happens in all gears. My guess is the torque converter is going bad.

I have 4.10 gears and dont get anything for acceleration, and it dogs going uphill. Anyone have any ideas???

check the rubber turbo line that comes out the bottom...mine slid off and created about a half inch opening a year ago and i never noticed it until it came halfway off the other day, i noticed a huge power loss and my turbo would scream without really puttin more power into the motor....i loosened the clamps, fitted the hose back on, tightened the clamps back down and got tons of power back
