Default Newbie: Another Throttle Positioning Sensor Problem?

Recently bought an 06 Megacab 5.9 CTD to haul my daughter to barrel races. Was told Dodge Cummins was the way to go. Today it would "race" between 1000 and 2000 rpm and wouldn't kick into gear. Took it onto highway and floored it and the engine just raced to 3500rpm or so (until I eased off the throttle) It didn't seem to kick into lower gears.

Looked around website raising the TPS as potential problem. Is this another symptom of a bad TPS. Is this a warranty item? Is it easy to change or should I get dealer to change.

Any thoughts appreciated!
