My truck seems to be leaking oil. Everything under the truck is covered in crusted on oil since I bought it, so i can't figure out where it's leaking too easily. It actually looked like the drain plug was leaking, so I tightened it and it's still leaking. I saw a product on TV that was a stop-leak, but it actually had a UV additive so you could see where it was leaking from by using a blacklight, and if it was still leaking after you use the stop leak. I looked for it at CSK but they hadn't heard of it. Anyone know about it, or can recommend a stop-leak product that actually works?

 

DON'T use a stop leak product. Get under there and clean everything up and find your leak first. Then decide on a coarse of action.

 

Ya I figured they were crap. The UV indicator would have been handy.

 

You can get that UV dye by itself, your local dealer may even give you some in hopes they will get the repair job.

 

Okay cool. Where can I find the dye? Just a dealership? They didn't have it at CSK. I just moved down here, so I don't know where anything is yet.
