Les, do you have a link to your writeup? I checked the DIY thread and did not see it there...

Yes, I remember the pics now that I see them.

Any chance you could start a diy thread that describes what you made, why you made it and how you pressed the bearings out?

And didnt you say you added a zerk fitting?

I'd be willing to give it a shot as well, although my bearings appear to be fine, they have taken a beating with the "fun" I have & the abuse from the worn ball joints. So a bearing repack would be a good thing right now. I may have access to a press to press out the bearings...

Also, was there any chance that you got the p/n's off the bearings when it was apart?

Ah, I think I see how you did it... you used the mounting bolts to act as a press to push the bearing housing off the hub, how did you get the inner bearing out though?

I would do another write up if I had time, but right now I am extremely busy. I could not find anyone that just sells the bearings. A company called Power Train Components Inc has the best price that I have found, Part #'s SKF BR930502 and Timken HA590032. If you can source the bearings by themselves please forward me the information. I am going to add a zerk fitting next time as well as a port to leave open for excess grease to escape. I cant recall if I remove the inner bearing or cleaned and repacked it in place. I know that I did not use a puller or press to remove the inner if I did.

ok thanks. Rock auto has the Timken HA590032 for $200 bux.

this pic shows the inner bearing on the bench... another pic you have showed a socket that looked like it was being used in a press.

thanks for the pics... when I have the hubs off again I will pull the bearings out and give it a re-pack...

Hmmmmm..........................
I have a spare bearing lying in my garage. Maybe I could try to do that this weekend.

Yeah I know, I'm a Gasser. Just the 2nd gen section is a little slow right now!

Default Same Problem Please help

I am supposed to replace upper, lower ball joints but when we removed hub assembly, it was split apart, the main problem was we tap the corners to break and unfortunately damage/dented the 3 bolts holes of the flange assembly, we used a puller and the hub was removed with the bearing but the flange was stuck in the steering knuckle.

We are thinking of putting back the whole assembly but found a bit of scratch if not cracking on housing, the bearing looks fine.

I would like to ask where what was the brand of the hub bearing assembly that was bought from http://www.buyautoparts.com/partsdis...am_Trucks.html as posted above for $390 a pair.

I found one the brand is Replacement, I never heard about it, Did anybody used this product? I was given a deal for $300 a pair
