Variable Cam Timing Overretarded (bank #2)
Getting these codes and am somewhat worried it may be my IP ?
Still under warranty.
Also, truck has been leaking fuel up on top somewhere I can't pin point where and the truck AFTER warming up for 10-15 minutes will 'spit and sputter' at idle. If you pick up the idle JUST A Little bit the sputtering seems to go away.
P1388 Variable Cam Timing Overretarded (Bank #2)
P1389 Glow Plug Circuit High Side Low Input
IS there ANY thing I can do do self-diagnose or fix this problem? Would the fuel leak probably have something to do with it?
Leaking injector? Is that what the Bank #2 means?
thanks

Have you checked your fuel injector lines for a leak? Make sure they are all tight. If your fuel injector itself was leaking you would most likely be "making oil" Pull your oil dipstick and see if it is overfull.
What year is your truck?
I googled those codes and get.
P1388 Auto Shutdown (ASD) Relay Control Circuit
P1389
No Auto Shutdown (ASD) Relay Output Voltage At PCM
Which makes more sense as I doubt your truck has variable cam timing or glow plugs
Try swapping the ASD relay and another similar one under the hood.

THanks guys. Truck is an '01
No apparent leaks in the lines themselves. Oil dipstick is fine. Fuel seems to be coming from top under that cover (don't know what its called) where the all the fuel lines connect to injectors. Same area as fuel heater is located that area. Its a long, narrow gold colored 'plate' with gasket.
I'm not sure fuel even is supposed to be under there? Long narrow cover with seal. What is it referred to? Seems the leak is coming from 'under' there. ? Possible.
OR I just havent located a leaking line?
I sprayed it all down with engine de-greaser multiple times then run it for 10 minutes and have isolated the fuel to the top of engine around that seal. NOT the very top of engine (engine oil).
ALso, yes, I HAVE noticed a discrepancy in the codes online. ASD related makes WAY more sense to me. We were 'messing' with the relays after I put in a new fuel pump.
Probably nothing to worry about. ?
The 'popping' or whatever you want to call it after it warms up concerns me.
IP is new at only 6 months old and has been running with 15-20psi going through to injectors until last week after I realized the in-tank pump was dying. I don't let the truck run for very long with a pressure (after filter) of less than 9 or so.
