Default Exhaust and Intake

I have a 2007 ram 3500 with the 5.9 6 speed. I use my truck every day for hauling a 4 car trailer and hauling. currently has 123000 miles and always maintained.

I am currently thinking about letting it breathe a little better then it has. I am looking at the Banks Ram Air induction with the scoop that goes under the bumper and adding just a muffler, the Banks Monster Muffler.

I am checking to see if anybody is running a setup like this and if you like it? How much has MPG increased?

Also I am curious as to what would happen if you run just straight pipe instead of a muffler at all?? I know it will be louder, but some people say you lose back pressure and it will hurt you in pulling a trailer???
Then I have heard its the best for hauling because then it can really breathe?

Please let me know what you guys think before I order parts and remember this is a hauling truck, not just to cruise around town in.

all i know is you need to have the right amount of back pressure, or yes, it will hurt your mpg. for intakes, i think the consensus around here is the AFE Stage II. I don't know about exhaust.

Personally I think the banks stuff is a little over priced. You could always buy a muffler delete pipe and see if you like it. I did a mbrp flow thru muffler and left the cat in place and i'm happy with it. Currently have a s&b drop in air cleaner soon to get the afe stage II
