I have an 05 quad cab. I ran 20 tanks of fuel and hand calculated the MPG for each tank. The overall average was 16.712. I then installed a K&N drop in replacement air filter into the stock air box. I ran 20 more tanks of fuel and hand calculated my MPG to be 16.155. This was not the result I was hoping for...... I am switching back to the stock air filter to see if the MPG will go back up.......

T/H mode is Tow/Haul mode. A mass airflow sensor is in the air intake. The exhaust brake, also refered to as an engine brake or Jake brake is in the exhaust system. The Jake brake was not an option on my dodge at that time. I think it wasnt available until 2008 or 2009 model.

Update. I put a monster dual exhaust on my truck and a bullydog reprogrammer on my truck. Depending on what RPM(2000 or less) I operated at, I can get almost 19mpg now, but the average is 18.2.

when i got my 2005 dodge diesel truck with 41K miles it had a k&n air filter inside the filter box,
i was concerned about more air flow, then i might get more dirt

so i bought one of the new mopor 4" air filters, i feel better about the air coming into the engine, but my mileage did go down about 1 mpg.

my truck runs like a wild dog and gets great mpg.
you have to have owned an old chevy 3/4 ton to understand where i am coming from.
