hey guys. im from the second gen ram side, but i was lookin into gettin a diesel, preferably a common rail. my question was what is the difference between the 5.9 and 5.9 high output. and how can i tell if the truck im looking at comes equipped with it?

My understanding: the difference is mechanical. Piston, and intake work. Perhaps some factory tuning. Look at Gino's garage, or Gino's something. Its a website that explains alot. I concluded that the 06-07's come with the HO 300+ HP and 610 FtLbs of TQ. These model years are equiped with the Cummins 610. I was told on this forum that there is a data plate indicating the HP rating on the valve cover. I personally have never looked.
