Default Fuel Sending Unit problem

Hey guys,

My fuel gauge started acting up so i pulled it out, checked resistance and it was bad. Replaced it and the gauge now reads empty all the time but I noticed the Distance to Empty window on the built in economy computer says "OC". Anybody have any idea? Maybe a calibration thing? I tried disconnecting the battery and reseting the computer but it does the same thing. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Justin

welcome you have to introduce yourself and what kinda truck do you have.
the new sender is good I always check them before i drop them in the tank hook it up and move the float a few times force of habit I guess.
check the grounds though there might be a wire from the sender to frame or tank to frame that grounds the sender if that sender isn't grounding out it won't read. one wire goes to the gauge see if the gauge is working you can take and ground that wire out the gauge should go all the way full and then some. If it don't move then wiring or gauge is bad also. Or the other sender was good and you just have a wiring/gauge problem.
