Question Front end problems

2002 5.9L 4x4 After I changed my front wheel assembly and ball joints I took my truck to get the front end aligned.Drove home looked underneath and it doesn`t look like they did a damn thing to it.With all of the dirt and rust around the tie rods and everything else I should see some tool marks clean threads solvent anything.I don`t have the tools for alignment but can check everything with measuring devices at work.Anybody have any specs for me to go by as far as camber adjustments,height,etc.etc.I don`t feel like spending 2 more hours waiting for them to do nothing.

I can't help with cast and camber but to check the tow in and out.
just to check you can take a rope and tie it the the hitch or back of the truck run the rope down side touching back tire to the front keep rope tight the robe should touch both side of tire and wheel must be straight its ghetto i know and a old school trick but the tow might have been ok that's why you didn't see anything done.
I have seen someone use a tape measure and measure the tires inside before and after the axle how that works out I am not sure. to check them i use the rope trick.
you should always take it to someplace that isn't going to hose you. It seems like these days good luck finding one.

A rope? That one I havent heard tape measure yes. Anyway If you did not move the tierod ends you may not have changed anything. changing ball joints wont change toe or steer ahead. could change caster or camber if the joint were real loose . But there should be some marks if they did adjust something. If everything was in spec and they adjusted nothing you should have been charged for a alingment ck . I dont know what you mean by wheel assembly? wheels, tires, hubs, brg's, but none of that will change your alingment. and always ask for a print out it will give you before and after and specs
For spech we need to know 1500,2500, 3500? reg cab or club cab?

camber plus or minus .50 degrees which is non adjustable, caster should be 2.74 degrees plus or minus 1 degree,Preferred Total Toe-In 0.20° ± 0.10° HD 2500/3500 4X4 ,Preferred Cross Caster 0° (± 0.5°,Thrust Angle 0° (± 0.4°) try that not much to change on diesel pickups due to ridged front end mainly toe and if in spec they adjust nuttn

yeah a rope its weird I know and Ghetto but it does work. My neighbor has a tahoe and it needed inner and outer tie rods so I took and used the rope trick to align it so we can take it to the alignment shop and it was very close to being perfect. Rt side was off just a little bit. I would never do that and leave it as good though. why mess up a good set of $200+ tires for $84 for a alignment. plus i did mess up when putting the parts on and didn't measure the old tie rod to tie rod that would have did away with me having to do the rope trick I wasn't thinking and tossed them out He came up with the idea but he is 79 years old stands 5ft 2in. Little old man driving a BIG TAHOE hardly sees over the wheel lol
