My best ever was 703 miles on a tank. Usually I don't run it that low, so about 600 is very common. I have the 35 gallon tank, but once the pump kicks off I take the time to pump 5 more gallons in it to fill right up to the filler neck. That tank that was 703 miles I put 35.1 gallons in and the low fuel light was not on yet.
I'm only getting 400 out of a tank. 1/8 tank left 06' Mega Cab CTD with only like a 27 gallon tank????
I have a 30 something gallon tank in my truck not sure but when i fill up normally add 27 gallons or so.
A lot has to do how you drive.
If you race the engine to speed = poor fuel mileage
3.73 gears driving over 65 mph = poor fuel mileage
4.11 gears driving over 55 mph = poor fuel mileage
Duel Rear Wheels and 4x4 loose a little off the top also
winter blend fuel don't help out in the mileage dept.
19.271 mpg 531 miles to 27.9 gallons that was two weeks ago not sure if it was winter blend that was in TX
and my last tank I got 17.02 mpg on winter blend witch is still ok in my book. I'm getting a little better at driving using my cruise and keeping my speed down. not racing the engine helps out a lot I'm not jumping on the skinny pedal to show everyone I'm a bad ***.
Just got the truck so thats probably why i havent gotten the mileage out of her that i would like. First diesel i have owned so i am learning how to drive it. The gas mileage meter still says the same as when i bought it, so maybe the other person drove it like me???? The only mod it has is the K&N filter and intake. Makes me wish i had the stock airbox laying around to see if that would help???
Doesn't this depend on short or long bed versions. I had an '08 duramax for work and it only had a 25 gal tank. Fueled up every other day with it. But my LB dodge has a 35 gal. I go an easy 600 miles.
