Default 2005 cummins 5.9 wont start

turn the key and nothing happens, tried boosting it but still nothing happens, when you turn the key the radio lights go out and the dash lights dim. Also sometimes on the odometer it says "done" not sure what all that means, anyone have any clue what the problem could be?

have you tried pulling the battery cables and cleaning them? sounds like a bad connection somewhere...

got it towed to the dealer. The owner before me had a remote starter in the truck before, when he went to sell it he tore the starter out, but left all the wires hanging under the dash, untaped and bare. Everything was shorting out. Luckily the dealer i bought it from is going to take the truck and fix it for me for nothing, because the dealer estimated about 1200 bucks worth of labour!!

When it says DONE on the ODO it is because it's trying to retrieve any codes in the ECM. You can turn the key 3 times (without going all the way to run) and get the computer to give you and codes.

Glad to hear the Dealer is taking care of you though
