Default V10 to diesel

I have been thinking about yanking the V10 out of my truck and dropping a Cummins in its place. What all would this entail. If I do this I plan on getting a wrecked donor truck mainly so I can get the coolers and the harness. Would a 12 or a 24 valve be better for a swap. How hard would it be to go to a manual, it is an auto now ( I have a feeling is is on borrowed time.) Just curious as to what you guys thought. The truck is the 2500 in my signature.

if you can get a doner... do it!!! very easy... you can do 12v or 24v, the only problem with doing the 12v in your year is, you need a 98-98.5 firewall mounted pcm, engine harness (engine harness also includes trans harness) and a/c condenser, converting to manual is very easy, everything bolts in, the cummins and the v-10 share the same bellhousing too, except for the 6-speed cummins.
