So I have to take my intercooler out to put in my new IP. I heard that while its out i should flush gas threw it to clean it out? I am a little new to pouring gas into the intercooler. Any advice would be help full. Also anybody out there a big fan of meth/water injection? pro's/con's? thanks for the help

i love the water meth, i run it in both my diesels... gas in the intercooler???? i wouldnt, do that and might be replacing you engine too, or the intercooler when the grid heaters turn on and everything explodes, they dont need to be cleaned unless your turbo blows up, and why are you going to pull it? i have changed alot of pumps and never once pulled the coolers to do it

Why on Earth would you pour gas through your intercooler?

And like dodgetrucker75 said, there is no reason to pull it to change a pump.

At most, the only things that need to come off is the belt, and possibly the fan shroud and fan if you don't have a gear puller small enough to fit.

A steering wheel puller works perfect.

I run water / meth in mine, but I use it in VERY low concentration; no more than 10%. I use mine for cooling more than anything, as the meth is just another fuel and I already over fuel it enough that it doesn't make a difference HP wise.

The biggest difference I've seen on my truck w/ and w/o meth was 4 HP. I can sneeze more HP than that.

Now, if your exhaust is running with no smoke, you can see some good power gains on the meth, but I'm MUCH more inclined to do it mechanically instead of chemically.

My buddy thats helping me pulling the pum said he can't get a gun in there to pull it off. i think if we pop the fan and the belt it should work. The gas thing well like i said just wanted to check. the gas would've been flushed out...but you both make good points. I'll pass on the gas nad just blow it out with a air gun. the meth/h2o is more to lower my EGT's. i run pretty high like 1200 to 1300 witch i know is really high. Any advice on lower them? i have a airraid filter that i try my best to keep clean. But living in the northeast does not help.

a better/bigger turbo will help with egt's as will the water/meth, but 1300 and under is still torerable as long as thats manifold temp

1200 - 1250 is fine. You can run that all day long.

Start pushing 1350 - 1400 for more than a few seconds and you'll start doing damage.

You don't need an impact gun to get the pump gear off, just a small gear puller. Like I said, a $15 steering wheel puller at Autozone works perfect. That's what I use when I do pumps....

The only thing I remove is the belt and the fan shroud.
