p0004 fuel volume regulator control circuit high
I have an 07, 6.7 td with 38,000 km on it. The only codes I've had are, thermostat rationality , which cleared itself and this p0004 code. The first 2 times the code cleared itself and this time after 2 days I'm still waiting. What possible causes are there for this code to appear, starting with the simplest? I got the p0004 from a generic code reader. Is it correct or does Dodge have their own codes? The truck seems to be running normally, except for the odd time when it cranks for 3 or 4 seconds before starting, which is always after it has been run for a while , shut off and restarted, never from cold. Temps here are well below freezing all winter.
Let me do some looking, that's the first time I've seen that code.
Initially, to me, that seems like it would either be the FCA (Fuel Control Actuator), COV (Cascade Overflow Valve) or the Rail Pressure Sensor.

Took the truck to the dealer.Their scan came up p0128 ( thermostat rationality). So I guess the scanner I used doesn't read Dodge DTC codes properly.Seem to get this thermostat code about once a year mid winter. They erased it again and sent me on my way. Also did a PCM flash as per TSB 18-024-09, tag under hood says 55350435 ?F, and I couldn't make out the letter before the F. Oh yeah, while I was there I got the fuel filter changed to the tune of $160. This was my first fuel filter change (35000 km). How important is it to change it as per service schedule?
