Default mega cab

Im looking to get a mega cab. i am deciding between a 08 with the 6.7 with a 5inch lift and 35's and the other is a 2007 with the 5.9 with a 7" lift and 37's. Which would be the better set up for truck pulls? and also which would be more reliable?

Neither! Lifts and big tires are the worst thing for pulls. The big tires lower the gear ratio, causing the motor to turn slower, and the lifts throw off the driveline angles.

i figured that but not having a lift and bigger tires is not an option. i like lifted trucks and have to have one so which of the setups and engines would be best seeing as stock wont be do able

Not sure. The 5.9 was proven, but being stifled with emissions, the 6.7 was new and unproven. I'd probably just go with the one I liked better.

If you plan on driving this a lot (Daily) I would go with 35" tires and 5" lift. That's what I have. Buddy has 6.7 with 7" and 37" and has a heck of a time pulling, and keeping the 37" balanced at all. I would be sure to rotate tires 5,000 miles with aggressive mud terrain tires to keep front from paddling too bad, 7,000 for All terrain. 5.9L is a better motor (Personal preference), but with 7" lift and 37" tires with a 373 rear vs. 410 you will probably have issues with highway towing if it has 373. Mine has 5.9L and 35" with 373 rear and pull nicely on highway to deer lease with a 14' and a few 4 wheelers or 21' boat. Haven't towed anything too heavy for long distances, but I have intake, bully dog, and exhaust.
