Exclamation G-56 6-Speed Fluid Change! Help!!

Hey guys, I know i'm no cummins- but i do have the HD 6 speed tranny.

Getting ready to change my fluid in it. Whats the best way to do this? Any pics or Do It Yourself threads on this?

I'm a little uneasy changing it for the 1st time.

Thanks!

Brother, it's stupid easy on the G-56.

Remove the drain plug and the fill plug on the the right side of the trans.

Reinstall the drain plug to 42 ft/lbs.

Fill the tranny to the bottom of the fill plug hole.

Tighten the fill plug to 42 ft/lbs.

Done.

Thanks a lot Coal Train..

Very Helpful

I was just a bit unsure because I have heard of people refilling by taking the console and shifter off. Didn't know about all that.

How do you like your twin setup? A buddy of mine with an 06 cummins manual RCLB had his twinned by a company in Michagan called LoveFab. It runs real good.
