Before i switch.
I currently own a 2005 1500 with the 5.7. I will be towing a trailer aprox 3500lbs this summer. My guess is well over 6k miles if anything closer to 8k. I currently run around 10 MPG with the 5.7 running around (mostly cruising around 63MPH). My question is what do you fellas expect to run for MPG with 5.9 or 6.7 (more than likely lightly chipped, exaust, and intake.) I am trying to figure out if it will be worth the swap not only from a 1500 - 2500 but in MPG's too. Thanks in advance.

depends on what your towing.
If your towing a big boat

or little boat
http://i891.photobucket.com/albums/a...2/BOATBLOG.jpg
big boat I get 8-10 mpg @55 mph
little boat I get 16 mpg at 70 mph
empty 15mpg in winter and summer up to 20mpg some get better then me I have a 2004.5 3500 Auto with 4.10 gears
Winter is worse winter blended fuel plus a few more minutes of idle time cuts my MPG's...
Now you can ask what year and or engine to get 5.9 or 6.7
5.9 is a great engine lasts for years when taken care of
6.7 good motor also has trouble with emissions crap witch cost you fuel take that off then they open up into a monster...
Hope that helps Pizzo
