Cool Whats the best brake pads????

Can anyone tell me from experience what the best pads would be to replace worn pads on a cummins 3500 that sees some heavy towing from time to time. And also if high performance rotors seem to really make a difference.

i have EBC yellowstuff pads on my truck...they seem to work pretty decent but the rotors on my truck are warped pretty bad so braking isnt what it should be....but i tow a car trailer with a truck and tools (about 10,000l) every weekend and it stops just fine

For towing, you want the EBC Green's. They're a little less abusive on the rotors than the Yellow's are. Also, they produce a lot less dust.

The Yellow's are more of a track / race compound. They stop awesome, but they're really aggressive. We installed the Yellow's and a set of EBC USR Sport Rotors on a customers truck a few weeks back and after we got the brakes bedded in, the damn thing wanted to stand on it's nose when you nailed the brakes. They REALLY work nice.

The Green's are definitely more suited to daily driving and heavy towing.

Now, you can also get the Ultimax pads if you don't want to spend as much coin. The EBC Ultimax's are one step up from the OEM pads and work fine on the average truck. We sell more EBC Ultimax pads than the other's combined. Mainly because the brakes on these truck are stronger than the tires as is, so unless you upgrade to bigger wheels and / or stickier and larger tires, you'll just hit the ABS faster.

Don't worry too much about the performance rotors unless you tow a lot in the mountains and don't have trailer brakes. Their main advantage is heat dissipation but don't offer much if you don't have performane pads. Just bring the rotors to O'reilly's and get them resurfaced, it's like $15.

These are the EBC USR Sport Rotors and YellowStuff pads that we put on the truck above.....
