Default Strange squeak?

When I turn right or left, I get an intermittent squeak. I have checked the power steering fluid level, it's good. No spots on the ground.
My guess is the steering pump is going out? Any thoughts.

Thanks

I'm gonna say you've got some some bad u-joints on the front axle.

LOL, ya It's my 05 2500 CTD, with 125,000. It squeaks from the moment you turn the wheel either direction even a little bit. Yes, it would squeak from lock to lock.
Today I got in and no sqeaks at all? Drove fine, I didn't do anything except check the fluid level (was good) and park it over night.

I'm having similar issues with my 2004.5 ram 2500 CTD. It just started a couple days ago. Whenever I make right or left turns going 5-25mph, I hear these squeaks that sound like I'm running over a patch of the cat's mouse toys.

I just had the front u-joints replaced 7 weeks ago.

More info: I don't know if it was I that f*ed it up the other day. I forgot my truck was in 4-hi and backed out of the driveway and turned hard to clear the other vehicles. When I turned, there was a "what the hell was that?" crunching noise coming from around the front. Don't worry, I didn't run over anything, it WAS coming from the truck.
The next day is when I started hearing the damn squeaks.

There is a little bit of play on the front shaft but the u-joints don't seem bad.

Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated. All the help from you guys have always been right one the money thus far. Thanks again.

Don

the OP sounds like king pin ball joints, thats exactly what mine did when the joints got dry and started to wear, donnyv... yours is in the suspention right? not in the steering? i would look over the control arm and the track bar bolts and mounts, they are normally what causes the squeeks and clunks in the suspention, get a coulpe buddies on the front and have them bounce the suspention a little, and see if you can locate the sorce from underneith

Were is the "king pin ball joints"? I had the upper and lower Ball joint changed out, about 10K ago. Should have had the u joints swapped out then.

The noise is either intermittent or I got use to it. I only hear it about once a week now?
